Hi, Don.

I am Mrs. Tippin's daughter Barb. I just wanted to note the spelling of her last name is Tippin rather than Tippen. Sadly my mom Liz passed away in 2011 but she would have liked this tribute as well! Like your website! I was born and raised in Tallahassee and love all history of the city! Have a super day. Best regards, Barb

Barb,
Thanks for letting me know about the misspelling. Don't know how that happened, it was right there on the picture. Sure wish I had more names for that picture, some of those faces look familiar but my memory is not good for that far back. Sorry about your mom passing, I read her obituary and it sounded like she had a really good and full life. She's buried in the same cemetery as my parents and family.

Hi, Don. Great to hear back from you! Tippin misspellings are quite common! My dad has a building named after him in Tallahassee (The Tippin Moore Building - Florida Board of Bar Examiners) and when they dedicated the building many years ago, and unveiled the brass cast plaque - you guessed it 'Tippen' was how the name was spelled! They had to redo the plaque! My mom was my hero and she is missed by many! Best to you and have a great day. Barb
